Overview & Official Announcement:
The Department of Education, Mandalay Interim Governing Council (MIGC), hereby announces the official policy standards and accreditation framework for basic education public schools (both ground-based and online schools) operating within the Mandalay Region.
Following the coordination meeting held on June 2, 2026, between the Department of Education (MIGC), ground-based schools, and online school representatives, full consensus was reached to adopt and implement the National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Education’s Interim Basic Education Public Schools Policy Criteria and Indicators (2026).
Key Implementation Directives:
Policy Alignment: All basic education ground-based and online schools in the Mandalay Region will be assessed and recognized according to the NUG MoE Basic Education Public Schools Recognition Criteria and Assessment Indicators.
Accreditation & Renewal Process: School recognition, policy compliance evaluation, and recognition renewals will be continuously conducted by the Department of Education (MIGC) under these standardized guidelines.

Official Statement:
The Department of Education, Mandalay Interim Governing Council (MIGC), actively operates in accordance with Chapter (2) Core Values and Chapter (4) Fundamental Rights, Entitlements, and Duties (Section 22) of the Mandalay Region Interim Political Arrangement to ensure continuous educational access for students across the region.
The NUG Ministry of Education and the Department of Education (MIGC) have formally negotiated and coordinated the division and transfer of basic education responsibilities.
The Department of Education (MIGC) hereby officially recognizes the following 9 Online Schools currently partnering and collaborating with the Council:

Verification & Support: Authorized by MIGC, a specialized Accreditation Assessment Team has been established to conduct necessary evaluations, quality checks, and monitoring in compliance with Federal Democratic Education Policies to support uninterrupted learning.
Call for Unlisted & New Online Schools: Unregistered, new, or remaining online schools operating within the Mandalay Region are invited to contact the Department of Education via email at admin@moe.migcmm.org for future official inclusion and announcements.
